K.N. Raj Training and Fellowship Programme aims to improve the curriculum and teaching of Economics in Colleges and University Departments across India, especially Kerala. This is in response to a felt need to improve the quality of economics education at the undergraduate and graduate level. Towards this goal a month long training programme for college and university teachers preferably working in Kerala would be organised at CDS premises. The programme would also award a fellowship for one month, for select participants based on their performance in the training programme. The focus of the course would be to strengthen the fundamentals of economics education, by providing intensive week long training on specific basic courses.
