Professor N Krishnaji, who recently passed away, was a Professor at the Centre during 1972 through 1979. Although he was at the Centre only for a shorter period of time, his influence over the kind of applied research and especially detailed data analysis is quite tremendous. Several of our alumni, who have become important analysts of India and Kerala’s economy are very quick to acknowledge the indelible mark Krishnaji has laid on their analytical apparatus. It is only proper and fitting that we remember his many contributions to our Centre. In order to do so we are having a brief memorial meeting on Wednesday, the 13th of November at 2.30 PM. It will be at the Joan Robinson Hall. Dr T.M.Thomas Isaac, Hon’ble Finance Minister, Government of Kerala will be the lead speaker. Other old students of Professor Krishnaji will also be present and will join in reflecting over his many contributions. During the time, Dr Thomas Isaac will also be naming the Krishnaji Hall, which is next to the Subrahmanian Hall in Panikar building.
