Theme: Innovation and Development
Organised by National Research Programme on Plantation Development (NRPPD) at CDS in collaboration with Rubber Board and Indialics (India chapter of Globelics). This 21-day course is scheduled to commence on 4 January 2013 and is intended to train college/university teachers and researchers interested in science, technology and innovation related issues.
The programme will have three components. The first component will expose to the theoretical perspectives on Innovation and development and locate a few issues for detailed exploration.The second component intends to expose the participants to the field where in necessary data/information will be gathered on the issues identified during the first phase. During the third phase, using the data/information collected from the field, the participants are expected to work in groups and each group is expected to prepare a report on the issue that they focus on
The training programme involves class room lectures on theory and econometrics, collection of data from the field, analysis of the same with use of appropriate statistical/econometric tools and preparation of a report by the group under faculty guidance.
This programme is organized as part of various activities undertaken by NRPPD at CDS sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India
