The 16th Finance Commission has recently been constituted with the responsibility of recommending the allocation of tax revenues between the Union government and the states, as well as among the states, for five years starting from 2026-27. In pursuit of this objective, the commission engages in extensive consultations with various stakeholders, including prominent think tanks across the states.
In this context, the Centre for Development Studies (CDS) was organizing a half-day workshop at Joan Robinson Hall, CDS on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 10 am to 1 pm. The workshop aims to deliberate on critical aspects related to fiscal decentralization, tax revenue distribution, and resource allocation.
